Even for the native Outlook application, not only the web version. The question is not 'can you insert HTML into Outlook'. Instead there are two other more pressing questions we should be asking; How do you embed HTML into Outlook. How do you create a HTML newsletter that actually renders well in Outlook? And across the various versions of. Open a html in a browser 2. Select All and the Copy the selection 3. Open Outlook 2003 - New Message 4. Make sure format for Outgoing message is 'HTML' 5. Paste the selection. Do not select the source code, select the page as you view in browser.
Is there a way I can import the HTML code from this template directly into an Outlook message so I can send it (for example) to my clients?
You can inject HTML code into the message body via the Insert as Text option;
- tab Insert-> (Attach) File-> select the created htm-file-> press the down arrow on the Insert button-> Insert as Text

This option no longer exists in the new File Attach dialog of Outlook 2016 and later.

However, you can still bring back the classic dialog with the “Insert as Text” option as instructed in; Classic Attach File button and Insert as Text option in Outlook 2016 / 2019 / Office 365.
Insert Html Into Outlook
Sending an HTML email using an HTML file with Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365 is still possible, although it is not offered as a default ‘Insert’ option. The process to re-enable ‘Insert as Text’, required for adding a pre-made HTML file is pretty easy… when you know how:-

You can also use the Attach File > ‘Insert as Text‘ via the Quick Access Toolbar (make sure it’s ticked)when you create a new email, in which case you can jump to number 8 on this page.- Open Outlook for Office 365 and click on the ‘New Email’ button as if you were composing a new email
- In the open email right-click on the Toolbar and select ‘Customise this Ribbon…’
- On the right-hand side under ‘Customise this Ribbon’ > Main Tabs select ‘New Mail Message’
- Right-click ‘New Mail Message’ and select ‘Add New Group’
- Your new group will initially be called ‘New Group (Custom) so right-click it select ‘Rename’ and call it something else like ‘Attach File As’ or whatever you fancy
- Now in the left-hand column ‘Choose commands from’ select ‘Popular Commands’ choose ‘Attach file’ and ensuring that your new group on the right is also selected click on the ‘Add’ button in the middle and then the ‘Attach File’ is then added to your Custom Group’
- Now click the ‘OK’ button to confirm the new Insert Button and it will now appear in the New Email/Compose Email Window
- Now to attach the HTML file click on the new ‘Attach File’ button and navigate to your file – don’t hit the ‘Insert’ button, but rather drop it down and select the new option of ‘Insert as Text’
- You have now created an HTML Email in Outlook for Office 365
TIP to Remove White area Around HTML email in Outlook
As you will see the quickest way to remove the annoying white space around your HTML email is simply to match up the ‘Page Color’ of the email with the main colour of the background of your HTML.
